Solar service and repair in PA, NY and NJ, including systems other companies installed

Sun Solutions LLC services, repairs and maintains residential and commercial solar systems across Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey, including systems the original installer no longer supports. We are a licensed and insured solar contractor based in Milford, PA (PA HIC #PA202807), and we take on systems whose installers have stopped answering, gone out of business, or left the area.

If you own a solar system and nobody will come look at it, this is the job we are set up for. The equipment on your roof is standard gear. A different contractor can diagnose it, repair it, and take over its maintenance.

What we take on

Most of the service calls we get fall into a short list:

  • Inverter faults and error codes, including inverters that shut down and restart on their own
  • Systems showing offline in the monitoring app
  • Panel and optimizer failures, including a single bad panel dragging down a whole string
  • Storm damage and wildlife damage (squirrels chew the wiring under panels more often than people expect)
  • Detach and reset when a roof needs replacing, coordinated with your roofer
  • Routine maintenance and inspections that catch problems while they are small

If your problem is not on that list, ask anyway. We work on grid-tied systems with net metering, battery systems, and generator integration, so an unusual setup does not put us off.

Warranty work on Enphase, EG4, Sol-Ark and Generac

We are authorized for warranty work on Enphase, EG4, Sol-Ark, and Generac equipment. In practice that means if a covered part in one of those systems fails, we can handle the manufacturer claim and put in the replacement, whether or not we installed the system.

That matters because the manufacturer warranty on your equipment belongs to you, not to your installer. It is still valid after an installer closes. The work just has to be done by an authorized contractor, and we are authorized for all four of those brands.

When an inverter is past saving, replacement is on the table too. We install EG4 hybrid inverter and battery systems, which can leave your system battery-ready so storage can be added later, and we install Tigo module-level optimizers where a system calls for them.

How a service visit works

Start by sending us three things: the address, a plain description of what the system is doing (or not doing), and screenshots from your monitoring app if you have them. A photo of the inverter display or its error code helps too. Do not worry about using the right technical words. Saying it stopped making power in March is enough for us to get started.

From there we diagnose the system and give you a scope of the repair before we do the work, so you know what is wrong and what fixing it involves before you commit to anything.

FAQ

Common questions from solar owners

Do you work on solar systems you did not install?

Yes. We service, repair and maintain solar systems installed by other companies across Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. The equipment on your roof is standard gear, and who installed it does not change whether we can work on it.

My installer went out of business. Can you help?

Yes. The manufacturer warranties on your equipment are separate from the company that installed it, so they do not disappear when the installer does. We can take over service on the system, and for Enphase, EG4, Sol-Ark and Generac equipment we are authorized to do the warranty work.

My system shows offline in the monitoring app. What does that mean?

It means the system has stopped reporting data, and sometimes that it has stopped producing power. The cause can be as small as a changed Wi-Fi password or as serious as a failed inverter. Send us a screenshot and the address and we will figure out which it is.

Do you handle the detach and reset when a roof is replaced?

Yes. We detach the panels and racking before the roofing work starts and reinstall the system once the new roof is on. We coordinate directly with your roofer so the two jobs line up.

What brands do you work on?

We are authorized for warranty work on Enphase, EG4, Sol-Ark and Generac equipment. We install EG4 hybrid inverter and battery systems and Tigo module-level optimizers. Outside of warranty claims, we take service calls on other equipment too. If you are not sure what you have, send a photo of the inverter and we will identify it.
